Behind the Canvas
Step into artist Lukas Häring's creative space during Aarhus Festival and experience art in the making. The doors will be open for you to explore projects in progress, see finished and unfinished works and get a rare insight into the artistic process.
During the day, Lukas Häring will create a brand new painting live in the studio - an unfiltered look into the flow of colours, shapes and ideas. Guests are invited to watch, ask questions and participate in conversations about art, inspiration and technique.
Whether you're curious about how a painting begins, love the smell of fresh paint, or simply want to get closer to local art, this is your chance to experience creativity in motion.
About the artist
Lukas Häring (b. 2001) connects the gap between classical academic training and contemporary digital influences, shaped by his multicultural background. Born in Japan and raised in Berlin, he gained a solid technical foundation under Dmitrijs Schurbin at Kunstschule Artgeschoss.
Although rooted in academic realism, his recent artistic work has explored digital media, capturing everyday scenes through a playful lens. The works combine personal reflections, cultural influences and online inspirations - often with elements of manga and comics. Now Lukas is returning to traditional media and working to bring his evolving imagery into the gallery space through exhibitions that challenge and expand the contemporary artistic dialogue.
