Bachata is one of the most popular social latin dances with roots in the Dominican Republic – it comes in traditional, modern and sensual variations. It’s a couples dance offering plenty of opportunities to unfold ones musicality with playful footwork, creative body movements and connection to the music as well as ones dancepartner.

New as well as experienced dancers are very welcome to take part – no partner needed!

On sunday we are introducing Bachata with to of our beloved artists – Jaros and Lorina – from Bachata Aarhus. They will give our participants a skill full introduction to the basic steps in Bachata. (Wednesday to be confirmed)

After the workshop we invite you to step onto the dancefloor to some of the best bachata rythms. This is an opportunity to practice what we’ve learned, and share the dance with friends as well as new aquaintances.

Aarhus Dance Festival sets the stage for people to share their joy while growing in skill and musicality.

Aarhus Dance Festival is a volunteer-based association organizing a yearly dance festival focusing on afro latin dance styles such as Cuban Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk. We are proud to host the 2025 edition on the 4th and 5th of October, and look forward to have you join various workshops, and amazing parties!
