Do not touch the marble

The architect duo 'iovermorgen' opens an exhibition at the Museum of Antiquities.

'Do not touch the marble' is a bewildering into the cracks of marble – and into the cracks of time. The exhibition is based on concrete knowledge about approaches to materials in the restoration of the Parthenon, as well as insights into inherited myths and stories that - in a wondrous way - connect to the material. Something very old is described with something very new – and then there’s everything in between: the fluid.

Among the museum’s casts, the forgotten physical material from antiquity is explored. Experience rare backstage photos from the Acropolis showing discarded materials from the Parthenon. In a new video work, classical myths flicker between street cats, shards, and souvenirs.
