Hvælvingen - OTOOTO

A supergroup of some of Denmark's best young musicians will wrap you in the most delicious sound blanket at Hvælvingen.

With a mission to "reflect modern society and give sound to its vibrations", neo-jazz quintet OTOOTO presents an innovative and fiery mix of jazz tradition and modern indie pop.

And who is behind OTOOTO? Some of the most talented young musicians in Denmark in the form of Jonas Due (trumpet and flugelhorn) and Oilly Wallace (alto saxophone and flute), along with Calle Brickman (keys), Andreas Svendsen (drums and percussion) and Matthias Petri (bass).

OTOOTO is inspired by everything from 70s rock and European church music to the pioneering sounds of Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis. The five musicians describe their sound as "a roaring sea of analogue synths and velvety horns" and modern bedroom pop à la Homeshake meets the 60s hard bop of Jazz Messengers.

All sources of inspiration melt together like a delicious creamy caramel blend over Wednesday night at Hvælvingen. Yum!
