Light Festival: RECALL

'Aarhus Connections' is the title of Aarhus Festival's big anniversary concert. A title that refers to Aarhus Festival as a historical link and to the city's strong musical community. But it is also a reminder of the concert's location at Pier 3 and the site's history as a ferry terminal for Molsfærgen.

The abandoned harbour area's current limbo between past and possible future is illuminated by artist Elisabeth Holager Lund in two fascinating light works, which can be experienced exclusively during this year's Festival Week.

"RECALL /" transforms the Pilot Tower into a lighthouse, searching and swaying, looking for new connections from its location at the edge of Pier 3. Inquiries and communication are no longer directed towards the harbour and the sea, but towards the city.

The Lightworks is an invitation to the city's population to think of it as part of the Aarhus of the future. Can the building help guide us safely through the unknown waters we call the future and remain an active and loved part of a new urban neighbourhood?
