Classical organ concert and ambient techno come together when French composer Maxime Denuc gives a concert in Langenæskirken on 4 September.
Maxime Denuc (FR) plays organ music like no other. In fact, he doesn't play at all. And no mortal can play his music. Confused?
Denuc has built a robot that uses a computer and MIDI controllers to control the sounds and, more importantly, the speed at which the robot plays.
The result is a magical sound experience that combines the all-encompassing baroque grandeur of the ancient church organ with the hypnotic tempo of modern techno.
It's the sound of organic dance music, church music for club kids or organ music for a digital age. The music media HHV Mag captures it very precisely when they describe it as "somewhere between Johann S. Bach and Hans Zimmer".
Maxime Denuc released the critically acclaimed album 'Nachtorn' in 2022 and has since performed in churches around the world. The concert in Langenæskirken is a Danish premiere and simply a unique chance for a church concert you will never forget.
