"What's your favourite scary movie?" - the meta-masher masterpiece 'Scream' is undoubtedly up there with the best and most iconic horror films of recent times, maybe ever.

 

The franchise created by horror king Wes Craven, featuring mask-clad killer Ghostface and ultimate final girl Sidney Prescott, has proved itself a tenacious force with six films over three decades and a seventh on the way. However, nothing sticks in our nostalgia and nervous system as deeply as the original!

 

Its blend of fresh 90's irony, the superb weaving of the ABCs of horror cinema, the charming young cast and the inventive murders are as sharp as when the film was released in 1996 and took a slightly silly Halloween costume to new spooky heights.
