PS Swingband

PS Swingband plays swing. Swing music that has its feel deeply buried in the 30's way of playing. PS Swingband is inspired by Svend Asmussen and the legendary group Quintette of the Hot Club de France. It consisted of self-taught gypsy guitarist Django Rheinhardt and classically trained violinist Stéphane Grapelli. Their interplay created a unique dynamic and between 1933 and 1939 they were one of Europe's most popular and sought-after jazz groups.

PS Swingband emphasises tightness, fun and surprises, but remains loyal to the original playing style throughout. The melody and the song have a prominent place in the songs out of respect for the composers and authors who wrote them. But the shape of the songs, the sound and tempos are set and performed in their own moody style.
