Railroad

Since 1999, Railroad has been playing across Denmark, starting in Skanderborg. If you do the maths for 1999, you'll come up with the magic number: 25, believe it or not. Railroad has been playing for 25 years and we're celebrating with an EP release party on 15. November 2024 at Walthers Musikcafe. The new EP consists of original songs and aims for both the classic blues rock sound that Railroad is known for but also more subdued, melodic songs.

Railroad loves the blue and loves the heavy. This is reflected in the sound, which is inspired by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter and many more.

In 2018, the band reformed itself, and with a new line-up. This meant, among other things, that the repertoire was changed and updated, with a strong focus on going back to the blues roots, including the band's own compositions.

Railroad is centred around a sweaty sound and a heavy bottom. It should groove, swing and rock all at the same time. It should tug at your gut and pull at your feet.

The band name Railroad is inspired by the railway lines that surround the city of Skanderborg, which in their childhood years made a characteristic sound of heavy goods on the rails. It's the same starting point the band takes when it roars down the rock'n roll track.

Railroad consists of:

Peter Kruse - vocals/harp

Philippe Rudolfsen, guitar

Jens Hvass Jakobsen, bass

Simon Hammelsvang, drums

Jesper Tychsen, sax
