Can you laugh at war?
With a deadly arsenal of black humour and lively songs, iconic cabaret groups Dakh Daughters and The Tiger Lillies invite audiences to laugh at the grotesque in the world in the musical show 'Stupid Life'.
In a time of war and evil, both groups believe it's cowardly to turn your back on the unpleasant. Instead, they encourage laughing at the absurdity of life, a philosophy at the heart of 'Stupid Life'.
Strongly visual and emotionally enlightening, the show explores themes of freedom and democracy, while the stage is filled with hilarious performance and gallows humour. Three years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the war is still raging, and 'Stupid Life' becomes a tool to process the senseless violence that shakes our world.
Satire and comedy have historically played an important role in highlighting evil and war. 'Stupid Life' continues this tradition and sends a strong message: keep living and laughing even when evil seems to win.
The production will be performed in Ukrainian, English, German and French with English subtitles.
