The city seen from above: Kulbroen

At Kulbroen, you can get a spectacular view of much of central Aarhus from the observation platform. Now you'll also find a special exhibition at the top that gives an insight into parts of the past, present and future of Sydhavnen. It is a very historic neighbourhood in Aarhus with an industrial, creative and social past and importance to the city. Now the neighbourhood is entering its next era, preserving and building on the past. A. Enggaard A/S and Kulbroen are behind the exhibition, while the artist My Soul / Sven Bech Pedersen has created the four works of art.

In the coming years, the northern part of Sydhavnen will be under development. The construction period will span approximately five years from the start of the project in 2021, and will ultimately result in a neighbourhood where art and culture together with a thriving business community drive the development of a socially sustainable district with space for the city's socially vulnerable and with room for movement. A total of 75,000 square metres of floor space is being built across 9 construction sites, including the renovation of two original buildings – A. Enggaard A/S is behind this project.

The iconic Kulbro will connect the burgeoning Sydhavn with Frederiks Plads and the established Midtby. The current concrete structure will be expanded with a footbridge, towers, squares, park and much more - a new unique urban space for all of Aarhus, where the cultural institution Kulbroen creates life and experiences in all the special spaces and settings. Aarhus Municipality, Kulbroens Venner, TRANSFORM and others are behind this project.
