The Danish Championship in BBQ 2025

The competition will be fierce at the Food Festival when 18 teams compete for the honourable title "Danish Champion in BBQ 2025".

The teams will compete in both well-known and secret categories to test their barbeque/grilling skills. And we're sure there will be plenty of tasty samples when barbequeing or grilling everything from chicken to spare ribs.

There are 5 mandatory categories and 4 creative categories for teams to compete in!

It is the points from the so-called mandatory categories that we find the overall Danish champion.

It's free to attend the event with an entrance ticket to the Food Festival!

The event takes place at the "DM i Grill" area.

This year's 5 official "Danish Championship in BBQ" categories are:

Fish of the day with sidedish 

Teams will be given 3 kg of fish from 'Kystfisken' and must create a flavourful side dish for the fish with Hokkaido Pumpkin in focus.

Chicken with sidedish 

Each team will receive 4 chickens sponsored by 'Danish Family Farms' to create a delicious barbecue dish to pair with Mac n' Cheese

Brisket 

Arguably the most difficult category of the year, when contestants must achieve the right cooking, smoking and temperature with meat sponsored by 'Mr Beef'.

Pork Neck 

A mouthful of heaven when it comes to cooking the meat!

Spareribs 

From @themeatclub.dk is called the "King Category" and winning it is almost like a championship in itself.
