The Florida Room
The Florida Room – a field hospital for the nervous system
Sit down and spend ten minutes drifting into thought. Open your attention to the subtle shifts in sound and light. As the Liberation Front of the Nervous System, we at The Florida Room claim the right to monotony, slowness, overlooked details, and repetition.
The audience is invited into a soft, pink house where an atmosphere of care and warmth embraces the body. Over the course of twenty-four hours, a sound piece of pulsating drum rhythms unfolds in relation to the sun’s cycle.
An honest, simple work without climax or drama – a slow movement that encourages surrender to the subtle shifts of sound and light.
The Florida Room is a paraphrase of slow art – a place to drift into thought, where time and repetition open the door to awareness.
