Award-winning theatre company with another thought-provoking performance.
The theatre company fix+foxy explores "The Global Village" and its mental geography with a cast from Denmark, USA, India, Nigeria and Turkey.
In the 80s, the concept of the "Global Village" emerged. It was predicted that in the future we would share lives and destinies across vast distances. Now it's here: The village of 7.8 billion people.
Our identities are no longer separated by geography and our lives are connected by stories created by the dream factories of Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood. But even as we've grown closer, it feels like parts of the world are moving further away.
A cast, each 'live' in Copenhagen, LA, Mumbai, Lagos and Istanbul, together film a globalisation biopic about what it means to live in a world where everything seems within reach but impossible to get.
Laughter, contemplation and shattered illusions
fix+foxy is known for challenging prejudices and turning your preconceptions upside down, making you look at the world and yourself in a new way. According to the critics, The Village is no exception.
Award-winning and thought-provoking
The Reumert-winning theatre company fix+foxy is known for their thought-provoking performances that challenge the prejudices and misconceptions we have about each other and the world around us.
In playful, entertaining and accessible formats, they engage audiences and tell stories about the people who make up our society. They invite people on stage who are rarely presented or represented in the performing arts because they believe that it can make a difference when people meet face to face.
Most recently, fix+foxy visited Musikhuset with the performance We the 1%, where the extremely rich were confronted by the remaining 99%, and where the real underclass came knocking.
The Village is produced in collaboration between fix+foxy and Revolver, which is part of Østerbro Theatre.
