A 10-Metre Charcoal Work at TESE
During Festugen, TESE presents works by artist Dicte Mærkedahl. The exhibition takes place shortly after a presentation of the same work at Lynfabrikken, where it will be shown only briefly. At TESE, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the work over an extended period as part of the gallery’s Festugen programme.
Dicte Mærkedahl has maintained a studio at Kunsthus TESE since November, returning after a period in Rome where she worked on paintings in collaboration with another gallery. The featured work was initiated in December and completed earlier this year following several months of intensive development.
In this work, Mærkedahl explores the inner transformations and evolutions that people undergo, and the ways in which we allow ourselves to open up and enter into connections that shape us beyond our conscious awareness. Through themes of attachment and release, understanding and letting go, the work reflects on those moments when we find ourselves suspended between loss and transformation.
The work engages with the movements of love, the soul, and human relationships, portraying these experiences through the physical body. The exhibition forms part of a group presentation at the gallery alongside other invited artists.
