CEVIL
CEVIL writes, produces and shapes its own sonic universe with an uncompromising approach, where distorted guitars tear at the surface and mechanical beats pulse beneath compressed, electronic layers. It’s raw, cinematic and emotionally charged, with hooks that stick in your head and productions that push the boundaries of what pop can sound like. It’s magnificent – often with a twinkle in the eye and a desire to challenge clichés.
Her lyrics revolve around her own observations of the world and her place in it as a woman, a young person and an artist. Her upcoming debut album, *Favourite Girl*, explores precisely this tension with a blend of seriousness and ironic detachment. CEVIL draws inspiration from everything from hangovers and break-ups to reflections on growing up, relationships and toxic dynamics. It’s all filtered through a perspective that seeks to understand the world without sugar-coating it in the process.
CEVIL has established herself as one of the most promising names on the Danish scene. She has received praise from Politiken, GAFFA, Soundvenue and the German KALTBLUT Magazine, and her songs are played on P3 and P6 as well as being charted on German campus radio.
Live, CEVIL is known for her playful and catchy approach to arrangements and aesthetics. There is broad consensus that she is one of the strongest new acts on the Danish live scene – a position she has cemented through concerts at venues including SPOT Festival, VEGA, Distortion, the Royal Theatre as support for The Raveonettes, and as the headliner on her own tour around Denmark.
