Cumbia Social Club

Cumbia Social Club is an international music collective, comprising mainly Latin American artists based in Denmark, which emerged from a cumbia experimentation and creation workshop that explored the genre as a tool for cultural connection and community building.

The project offers a festive and interactive experience, transforming iconic rock and pop hits from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s into vibrant cumbia versions. Familiar songs that are deeply embedded in the collective memory are reimagined through Latin American rhythms, creating a show where audiences don’t just dance—they sing along to every song.

Cumbia Social Club’s unique concept connects generations and cultures through a repertoire that resonates with diverse audiences, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where music becomes a bridge between communities.

The collective made its official debut at the renowned Aarhus Jazz Festival as part of the Jazz in Pajamas concert series, performing to a sold-out audience and receiving an enthusiastic response. The successful premiere confirmed the project’s ability to bring together people from different backgrounds through a shared celebration of music, dance and community.

More than just a band, Cumbia Social Club is a cultural platform that celebrates diversity, joy and the power of music to create meaningful connections.
