Cyantopi (blue print) workshop
Get creative and make your own art using the sun as your tool.
Cyanotype, or blueprint as it is also known, is an ancient printing technique invented in 1842. Originally, cyanotype was used to copy technical drawings, but it quickly found its way into aesthetic practices – and it’s easy to see why.
It is a simple process that creates beautiful blue and tactile patterns using two iron salts that become light-sensitive when mixed. With the help of the sun, the paper turns blue, whilst the parts covered by plants or other objects remain white.
It’ll be a lovely afternoon spent printing and having fun.
Just turn up as you are; we’ve got all the materials and expert guidance ready.
