Danseteltet - Sambananas

Samba is for everyone regardless of age and gender. You feel happy all over, get a smile on your face, delights in your ears and it increases your self-confidence

Samba is a real historical dance from Brazil. It exists and is danced with different expressions.

The traditional men's samba (Malandro) can be danced by all genders, but the attire is typically masculine with a suit, smart shoes and a nice hat. The style is gangster meets gentleman. The steps are cool, blistering, show off but at the same time laid-back yet fast.

The feminine samba no pe (samba no pe) is probably what most people associate with Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The dance is danced by all genders but the expression is very feminine, elegant, flirtatious and show off. The attire can be anything from one-piece suits to tiny bikinis - but always flanked by lots of feathers and sprinkled with bling and sequins. The steps are fast with lots of variations and often on high heels.

Axe is pop samba that typically features easy, slightly naughty choreographies to popular music with samba rhythms. This genre has often been used in fitness centers as a kind of dance aerobics and by children and young people for dancing and playing in the street and at parties

A final type of samba is Samba in a circle (Samba de roda). Here, people stand in a circle and take turns dancing in the middle and giving it their all. You either jump in and take over/interrupt someone else's dance or you are invited to a duet. The style is from Northeast Brazil and is very relaxed, social and unpretentious.
