DJ – Mads Laumann
There’s no set list. No plan. Just his ear, the crowd — and 35 years’ experience of knowing exactly when to drop the next track.
Mads Laumann started behind the decks in 1989, aged 17, at Montmartre in Aarhus. Since then, he has made his way quietly and steadily through the Danish nightlife scene — not as the loud type, but as the one who was always there when the music was at its best. At Couch, DNA, NASA and Train. On stages and in basements, from sunset to sunrise.
His world is sweaty funk and soulful house, deep house, garage, Afro rhythms and rare grooves — the music lives in the collections, not in the algorithms. The tracks linger in your body long after you’ve forgotten you were dancing to them.
In Aarhus’s festival scene, he’s a familiar and well-known face: at the Malling Bjerge Festival — the secret gathering in the garden south of the city, where word of mouth is the only ticket — and at Smukfest, where he proves time and again that the best party doesn’t start with a name on a poster, but with the first beat. Mads Laumann doesn’t play for you. He plays with you
