DropInWedding in the Cathedral

Maybe you have planned a weekend for lovers in Aarhus? Maybe you are dreaming of getting married in a beautiful, simple setting – just the two of you? Or maybe it would be a great idea to surprise family and friends with a wedding? On Friday, September 4, we will open the church doors for a festive afternoon with DropInWedding and invite all those wishing to get married to a wedding party in the Cathedral. Here, the altar and the church chapels are the setting for today's weddings, and throughout the afternoon, the church organists will fill the church room with music. Afterwards, we will offer all newlyweds a glass of bubbles and something sweet. 

In collaboration with the Wedding Office at Dokk1, we are offering this day the opportunity to get married in the Cathedral at short notice. This means that we can have the official wedding papers ready if you fill out and sign a marriage declaration via borger.dk by Wednesday, September 2 at 12 noon. Remember to note 'DropInWedding in the Cathedral' in the comments field. When the marriage declaration is approved, you will receive the approval in your e-Boks in the form of a trial certificate. The trial certificate is the documentation that you meet the conditions in the Marriage Act.

Please note that only one of you must be a member of the Danish People's Church in order for you to be married in the church.

When you arrive at the Cathedral, priests, choirboys and other church staff are ready to welcome you and take care of all the practical matters. If you come unaccompanied, the church will provide witnesses.
