During Aarhus Festival 2026, we invite you to a very special opening ceremony as we cut the ribbon on a brand-new path at Vestereng. This path is more than just a route through the greenery; it is the culmination of the project Imperfect City—a tribute to the quirky, the unfinished, and the authentic.

The Voice of Youth in Urban Space

Over the past year, groups of passionate young people have worked to shape their own visions for the urban life of the future. The result is a series of unique sculptures now emerging along the path at Vestereng. Here, raw concrete meets wild nature, and classical forms are challenged by the youth's perspectives on what a "perfect" city truly is.

What Can You Expect?

For the grand opening, we invite all Aarhusians to walk the route for the first time. Experience an afternoon featuring:

Guided Tours: Hear the young artists share the thoughts and stories behind their works.

Community: We celebrate local engagement with music and refreshments in the open air.

Nature & Art: A break from the city noise, where art is allowed to speak at eye level.
