Marce (KONS) (4 August)

Marce are a post-punk band based in Aarhus. Drawing on a rich musical universe and with roots stretching back to old folk song traditions, Marce strive to create music that stays with their listeners.

Their love of noise and the sombre shines through in their well-played and carefully crafted catalogue of songs. This is particularly evident on their upcoming EP ‘Whiteville’, which tells the story of a small village in Montana, USA, and its inhabitants. The band describes the EP as follows:

The small town of Whiteville is a place that nobody takes any notice of. Even in the modernised, globalised age in which we live, Whiteville seems cut off from the rest of the world and feels stuck in the past.

The last school closed long ago and only a few shops manage to stay afloat. Almost no one leaves the town, and so its story is rarely told. But through the five songs on this EP, you’ll have the chance to hear Whiteville’s tragic ballads of loss and murder.
