“Neighbourhood by the Grill – Open Community at Fredens Torv”

“Neighbourhood by the Grill – Open Community at Fredens Torv” is a free and open community event during Aarhus Festuge 2026, centered around hospitality, neighbourliness, social inclusion and encounters between people in the public space.

The event will take place within Bodega Kurts Mor’s existing outdoor area at Fredens Torv and aims to create an informal and accessible meeting point in the heart of Aarhus, where locals, neighbours, visitors, students, families, young people, seniors and passers-by can meet across age, background and social circles.

The programme consists of free barbecue serving with sausages and bread, low-scale acoustic live music (singer and guitar), and open social gathering in the public space. The event is 100% free of charge, open to everyone and requires no registration.

The purpose is not centred around alcohol or commercial activity, but rather to contribute to Aarhus Festuge’s ambition of creating an open, welcoming and inclusive city where participation is easy and community is strengthened through shared experiences.

Any alcohol service will remain strictly within Bodega Kurts Mor’s existing indoor licensed serving area and will fully comply with current permits and regulations.

Through this event, Fredens Torv is intended to be activated as a positive, locally anchored and inclusive community space during Festuge, with a strong focus on togetherness, accessibility and informal cultural participation.

The music will be acoustic and kept at a moderate level, the event will take place during daytime hours, and the arrangement will be conducted responsibly and with full respect for neighbours, surroundings, safety requirements and applicable municipal guidelines.

The event layout and site plan remain entirely within Bodega Kurts Mor’s existing leased outdoor area.
