Roda de Santo

Roda de Santo invites audiences into a hypnotic sonic universe where Afro-Brazilian rhythms, rituals, and electronic textures merge in a concert experience carried by trance, community, and embodied presence.

Roda de Santo is a Brazilian collective rooted in the Umbanda tradition, creating a contemporary musical encounter between percussion, voice, and electronics. Drawing from Afro-Brazilian rituals and song traditions, the group moves through trance, repetition, and improvisation, where sound becomes both collective presence and cultural memory.

Traditional Umbanda chants intertwine with original compositions and electronic textures in a vibrant and circular soundscape that both honours tradition and opens it towards new contexts. Live, Roda de Santo creates an immersive concert experience where drums, voices, clapping, and frequencies dissolve into a constantly evolving flow.

In 2025, the group released their debut EP on the independent label CONCHA and performed at Festival Le Guess Who? in the Netherlands – one of Europe’s leading festivals for experimental and avant-garde music.
