TWANG

Twang features banjo, fiddle, guitar, double bass and beautiful three-part harmonies. Twang consists of three musicians with roots in Denmark and the US. Since 2014, Twang has played countless concerts and has developed its own unique sound and atmosphere, entertaining and challenging audiences with a skilfully improvisational style.

Roots Band of the Year 2024

In 2024, the band was awarded a Danish Music Award for Roots Band of the Year. Their second studio album from the same year, *Propaganda* (2024), earned the band two nominations: “Roots Track of the Year 2024” (for “UFO”) and “Roots Composer of the Year 2024”. Twang was also nominated for Live Band of the Year in 2018 (DMA Blues).

Moved to Bandcamp!

Twang has removed all of their albums (except collaborative work) from streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music and other similar platforms. You can now stream the albums on Bandcamp or buy a vinyl/CD from the Online Store along with other merchandise (T-shirts, caps, water bottles, etc.). 

Background

The band met whilst studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen (RMC), where all three stood out for their interest in American folk music. The three musicians have always wanted to challenge the folk music scene and bring something new to the tradition. This work has so far culminated in hundreds of gigs across Denmark and the release of four albums: Bebzy Biddle (2017), the live album Live Tapes Volume 1 (2019), the collaborative album Svante Sjöblom & Twang (2022) and the DMA-nominated Propaganda (2024).
