From today, everyone in Aarhus and the surrounding area can submit events for the Festival's 60th anniversary programme.
With the anniversary celebrations under the theme 'Aarhus Festival - No Age', we hope for a lot of festive events that embrace a wide range of people.

A Festival Week programme created by all of Aarhus
Since the first edition of Aarhus Festival back in 1965, the recipe behind the programme has remained more or less intact: A mix of content from the Festival Secretariat and from cultural actors and associations throughout Aarhus.
Or as the then mayor Bernhard Jensen said in his opening speech for the first Festival Week: "The content will to some extent be up to the citizens of Aarhus to ensure by supporting what is organised both outdoors and indoors".
In 2024, 1/3 of the 1726 events in the Festival were produced by the Festival Secretariat, while 2/3 were contributions from the rest of the city.
Aarhus Festival 2025 takes place from 29 August to 7 September.

- It is free for organisers to sign up for the Festival programme. Read about guidelines for organisers.
- During the spring, the Festival Secretariat will present much of the content for the anniversary programme.
- The sub-theme Aarhus Festival - No Age is an extension of the three-year theme Mind the Gap. Read more about the theme and the anniversary theme.
- The first edition of Aarhus Festival was held in 1965. When the Festival celebrates its anniversary next year, it is because it was not possible to organise the Festival in 2020 due to Covid-19.
