Are you a Festugens supersenior?

We're looking for 12 everyday heroes aged 65+ to light up the cityscape during this year's Festival Week!

"It's a bird! It's an aeroplane! No, it's a small army of mature superheroes in capes and tights taking over Aarhus!". These were the reactions when a patrol of grey-clad men in Superman suits moved around the city during Aarhus Festival 2016. The local supermen were part of the performance 'Blue Tired Heroes' by Swiss choreographer Massimo Furlan.

For this year's 60th anniversary edition, we're once again unleashing super seniors in the city, and this time all genders can jump into tights. We've started the hunt to assemble the superhero team of the festival - and it could be you!

Are you the saviour of the festival in tights?

Do you want to join the fun in the streets during Aarhus Festival 2025?

The project involves you wearing a costume and walking around the city with a group of other superheroes in the same outfit. The project is not political, doesn't involve nudity, but contains a good dose of humour.

Your "superhero training" will take place on 4 September, where you will be instructed for about four hours by a professional instructor who will primarily work with simple body expressions. The actual performance will take place for 1½-2 hours during the day on 5 and 7 September and two shows on Saturday 6 September during the day and early evening.

You are:

• An average person aged +65 years old.
• You can understand English at home, as the instructor speaks English.
• You must want to take part in an intense and fun experience where you just have to
  be yourself, the task is purely non-verbal.
• You are allowed to have physical "disabilities", but you just need to be able to move around
  around the streets for a couple of hours a day for the three days.
• You must have an email address for general coordination.
