About Aarhus Festuge 2026

Aarhus Festuge is the Nordic region’s largest cultural festival and brings together art, culture, creativity and community across the whole of Aarhus every year. During the festival week, the city’s streets, squares, parks, cultural institutions and unexpected urban spaces are transformed into venues for experiences, encounters and new perspectives.

The festival is created in collaboration with hundreds of organisers, associations, artists, cultural institutions, businesses and volunteers, who together contribute to a diverse programme with something for everyone. The programme ranges from music, performing arts and visual arts to debates, workshops, communal meals, urban space experiments and activities for children, young people and adults.

Aarhus Festuge is all about bringing people together across interests, backgrounds and generations. The festival invites both residents of Aarhus and visitors to experience the city in new ways and to be part of the communities that emerge when culture and people come together.

Aarhus Festuge is the Nordic region’s largest cultural festival and brings together art, culture and community throughout Aarhus every year. Together with hundreds of organisers, a diverse programme is created, offering experiences for all ages across the city’s streets, squares, cultural institutions and public spaces. Aarhus Festuge invites both residents and visitors to experience the city, its culture and each other in new ways.

All of Aarhus Celebrates

On Saturday 5 September, Aarhus city centre will become one big party area as ‘All of Aarhus Celebrates’ fills the city’s streets, squares and public spaces with a sense of community, activities and experiences – and we’re joining in!
‘All of Aarhus Celebrates’ is the day when the city becomes a stage and the sense of community spills out onto the streets.

Local associations, cultural organisations, educational institutions and communities will take over the city centre with around 30 pop-up activities and four parades, bringing life to places such as Strøget, Store Torv, Lille Torv, Grønnegade, Vestergade and the area around Mølleparken.

We are part of the programme and, together with the city’s many other organisations, are helping to bring more life to the urban space and to create the little surprises and large communities that make Aarhus so special.

The day begins with the ‘Parade for Aarhus’s Smallest Wheels’, where the youngest festival-goers can roll through the city centre. The programme then unfolds with creative workshops, group activities, music, dance and unexpected encounters for children, young people and adults alike, before the day rounds off with concerts at Bispetorv.

Come and join us on Saturday 5 September for ‘All of Aarhus Celebrates’ – a celebration of the city’s people, commitment and diversity, and an invitation to experience Aarhus in a new way.

Festugeparken

During Aarhus Festuge, Rådhusparken and Musikhusparken merge to become Festugeparken – the festival’s communal park for everyone. Throughout the ten days of the festival, the area becomes a vibrant and open urban space filled with art, culture, music, activities and experiences for both children and adults – and we’ll be there! Here, you can engage with art and culture at eye level through play, participation and curiosity, as Festugeparken provides the setting for over 200 unique events.

We’re part of the programme and, together with cultural institutions, local associations and other organisations, we’re helping to bring Festugeparken to life. The programme ranges from creative workshops, play, performing arts and movement to concerts, talks and group activities, and reflects the core idea of Festugen – that activities are created in collaboration with the city itself.
